CPSA LAW - The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSA) exempted resellers from lead testing requirements.  However, you are still responsible for selling safe items.  Please check the CPSA web site at http://www.cpsc.gov/ for recalled and unsafe items and do not bring these items to Kid's Closet.
New 4/1/2011:
All items left behind will become property of the school and church at 11:00 on Wednesday- they are nonprofit organizations.  Most of the items will be sent to other ministries; however, we are adding a worker perk where all workers may shop at 75% off on Wednesday after pickup.  All proceeds from this sales at that time will go to the school.
All items should be in good condition - clean, in style, no holes or stains, and of good quality.  Clothing should be Spring and Summer only .

Sellers are limited to 7 winter items.  No Junior Clothing in the Winter section.
February sale only - We will sell designer Junior clothing (sizes 0-4 only) from the following brands only:  Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Aeropostle, Gap, and exclusive designer or boutique brands.

To ensure the good quality of our merchandise, we are inspecting items at check in, so allow extra time.
Also, we will no longer allow tags from other sales unless they are identical to our format.

NOTE:  We do not sell maternity and clothing above child's 14 and shoes above adult size 4.  Also, no stuffed animals, no glass or ceramic items, no shoe boxes, and no VHS videos.

You don't need an appointment to drop off your items and if you have a seller number on your mailing label or email, you don't need to register with us to sell.  However, if the sale area fills up, your items may not get into the sale, so come early to ensure your items get into the sale.

SELLER'S INSTRUCTIONS
  •  Every item must be tagged with card weight paper.  Use about half of a 3x5 index card (or card stock computer paper)- use safety pins.  Do not hide your information with the pin.  Danger-straight pins injure shoppers and other clothing -- we will remove items using them from the sale for safety reasons.  Please tape over your safety pins to prevent tag swapping (make sure you number is still visible).  Some people are tag swapping to get a better price.  Yes, just a few years ago stealing at a church was unheard of.  We do not remove tags due to our computerized checkout.
  •  If you do not want your item to be sold at 50% off on Saturday, you must circle the price.
  • Prices not circled will be sold at half off.
  • Do not use infant pound or S, M, or L for sizes.

Note: 0-3 months and preemie are missing since we don't carry those sizes because they rarely sell.
  • Hang each garment with the hanger facing left .  Consider the hanger hook to be it's nose.   -- No plastic hangers, No hangers with cardboard, No pant hangers - hangers must be 100% metal ( except plastic coating is allowed).
  • Tag according to the diagram below. Watch out-clear tape tears puzzles and books. We've had complaints.  Try plastic colored tape or masking tape.
  • Hang pants with safety pins so they hang fully viewed as if you're wearing them.  Do not fold them over a hanger.  See the photo below.
  • Please sort your books, our categories are:  soft books, board books, preschoolers, kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade, 3-5 grades, middles school, teen, educational (in each age group), parenting, and maternity books.
  • Shoes must not be in shoe boxes.  We don't have space and they are always removed from the boxes.
When setting out your items please do not browse or linger.

>>>  CLOTHING MUST BE SORTED BY SIZE AND SEX.  WE RECOMMEND USING TWIST TIES OR CHENILLE STEMS.
We ask you to put your items away in the sale area.  However, if something comes up and you cannot do this, we will help you, but only if your items are sorted; otherwise abandoned items will be put into our storage area because we do not have time to sort them.  Even though you are hanging your clothing, you need to have them sorted before coming into the sale area due to our time and space constraints.

Note:  You are selling items at your own risk.  We have had some shoplifting especially of gaming system games, so consider the risk when submitting games.
  Note:
After the sale, we try to sort the items back by seller number, but we don't guarantee the sorting will be finished.  So allow a few more minutes at check out in case you need to look through a table or part of a rack.

We will begin limiting the number of size 3-6 month and 6-9 month items to what will fit on their rack space, so come early to make sure your items get into the sale.

Shoes - No shoe boxes allowed.

Perks for Workers

I want to learn about preshopping for workers.

Metal hanger solutions: 1) ask your neighbors if they are recycling hangers; they would love to give them to you instead. 2) Check out health clubs for abandoned hangers. 3) Our mom who got the most hangers had her husband put out a sign at work that said - NEED hangers.  She got 2 car loads.  Please bring your extras to check in for moms who couldn't find enough.
